Advanced Pain Relief for Your Pet

Preston Animal Hospital is proud to announce another cutting-edge treatment option for your pets:  Class IV therapeutic laser technology.  Our Veterinarians and team members are well trained in the use of this highly therapeutic laser.  Our Class IV laser has many clinical applications in pain management and rehabilitation, wound healing, reduction of inflammation and swelling.

What is a Therapeutic Laser?

Laser therapy (photomodulation) uses specific wavelengths of light that operate in the visible and near infrared light region to help stimulate tissue regeneration, improve healing time, increase circulation, decrease swelling and reduce pain. The laser is able to penetrate deeply into cells to stimulate healing without generating heat. The result of this energy equals accelerated healing with minimal risk of damage. Because the infrared wavelengths penetrate much deeper into the body than visible light, these lasers may be used effectively on internal organs, bones, cartilage and nerves.

What is the Laser Therapy process?

Laser therapy is a noninvasive, painless and side-effect free therapeutic treatment for your dog or cat. No sedation or special restraint is required, and the pets are relaxed and comfortable during the entire process. Treatments vary in length and time depending on the condition being treated. Chronic conditions frequently require a series of treatments with each treatment lasting 5 to 10 minutes. Many pets will enjoy  increased comfort and improved mobility within 12-24 hours after laser treatments
